The serial production of Shahed analogs has begun in Ukraine, with capacities set to increase, states Ukraine's Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, according to a report by RBC-Ukraine correspondent.

He clarifies that the Ukrainian military-industrial complex is currently producing only dozens of kamikaze drones, assuring that capacities will continue to expand. "Since 2016, the state had developments that were inexplicably not put into production. We have now launched serial production. Currently, we are producing them by the dozens," he says.

The minister has added that next year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could receive over a thousand such drones capable of flying over 1000 kilometers.

Production of drones in Ukraine

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during a press conference the country's plans to produce a million drones by 2024.

Later, Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin clarified that this plan pertained specifically to FPV drones. According to the official, Ukrainian factories are ready to produce munitions for a million drones, intended to be handed over to Ukrainian defenders in 2024.

For a deeper analysis of whether such a quantity of drones could alter the course of Russia's war against Ukraine, read the RBC-Ukraine report.
