Ukraine's foreign minister Andrii Sybiha expressed solidarity with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani, who was targeted by pro-Russian hackers, and offered him assistance.
"Full solidarity with my Italian colleague Antonio Tajani in the face of malicious acts of cybercrime and intimidation targeting him and his family," the Ukrainian foreign minister wrote.
Sybiha stressed that Ukraine has considerable experience in countering such cyberattacks and is ready to share it with its partners.
He also backed Tajani's proposal to discuss cyber threats at the meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Paris, which the Ukrainian minister will attend.
"Cyber threats and malicious attacks know no borders and demand a strong, coordinated response... Together, we are stronger in protecting Europe, reinforcing the resilience of our societies, and safeguarding critical infrastructure and sensitive data," Sybiha said.
Italy's foreign minister reports cyberattacks and threats over support for Ukraine
Cybercriminals published Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani's personal data on the dark web and are attempting to intimidate his family.
According to the Italian diplomat, the attacks were prompted by his clear and principled stance in support of Ukraine and the defense of a sovereign state's freedom.
Tajani stressed that he would not give in to intimidation by the perpetrators and would continue to defend his country.
