Ukraine needs to prepare for Russian provocations on New Year - Air Force
Last year, on New Year's, Russia launched a record number of missiles onto Ukrainian territory. This time, the Russian Federation has about 1000 missiles in stock, says the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, during a telethon.
"Last New Year's Eve was under the attack of Shaheds. Back then, there were 45 of them, which was a record at that time. But the enemy accumulates a certain number of missiles, about 100 of them can be produced per month, high-precision ones, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR). Currently, the enemy has already accumulated a certain quantity of missiles, approaching 1000. We saw the latest data from GUR - it's 870. But some time has passed, perhaps they may have reached 1000 of these missiles," stated Ihnat.
However, he noted that making predictions about when and how Russia might use these weapons is not advisable. Nevertheless, Ukrainians need to be prepared for any provocations.
Recall that on New Year's Eve from 2022 to 2023, Russia attacked Ukraine with both missile strikes and launched drones like Shahed. At that time, a record number of drones were deployed. However, recently, over 70 Shahed drones were launched over Ukrainian territory in one night.
Ukraine is preparing for Russian attacks in winter
It is worth mentioning that Ukrainians are warned about possible new mass shelling by occupiers in the lead-up to autumn and winter. The energy sector of Ukraine could be the target of the Russians. Analysts and experts believe that this winter, occupiers will not be able to leave Ukrainians without electricity.
It is known that Ukrainian engineers underwent training in Britain just before winter. The goal of the program is to protect the energy sector in the event of possible Russian attacks.
At the same time, GUR confirms that Russia is accumulating missiles for repeated mass strikes. However, according to intelligence, the scale of shelling will be smaller.
