Ukraine has not received the $16 billion in aid from the US as previously agreed, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state says Ukraine must seek solutions on its own and secure new defense aid packages, regardless of how this is perceived abroad.
The President emphasizes that Ukraine has no choice but to strengthen itself as long as the war continues.
He stresses the need to work on new support packages from the US and to raise the issue of unfulfilled past agreements.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine must fight for the promised resources and funds that have not been provided.
"Ukraine must fight; let no one in the United States take offense," he notes.
The head of state emphasizes that European leaders advise the Ukrainian leadership not to apologize for requests for military aid, as this is vital work for the country's defense.
The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with US negotiators ahead of the meeting in Abu Dhabi.
The President spoke with US Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, focusing primarily on preparations for the upcoming negotiations.
In addition, Zelenskyy is counting on greater US assistance to Ukraine following the Democrats' victory in the midterm elections.
The head of state expressed hope that this would allow Kyiv to receive more financial support and military supplies from its American partners.
