Ukraine launches new Drone Builder feature for military: Here's how it works

Ukraine has launched a drone builder for the military based on the DOT-Chain Defense weapons marketplace, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The new feature allows military personnel to select vehicle configurations at the ordering stage, tailoring them to specific combat missions.
This solution will reduce the workload on unit drone workshops and accelerate the implementation and scaling of innovations on the front lines. As a result, the military receives a drone that is ready for use out of the box, specifically for their section of the front line.
"The Drone Builder was developed in response to requests from the military, with whom the Agency is in constant contact. The new feature allows drones to be customized as early as the ordering stage—in just a few clicks," says Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency of DOT-Chain Defense.
How Drone Builder works
The feature works as follows: when placing an order, a unit representative sees all available configurations of the drone. Specifically, they can choose from the following components:
- Frame
- Flight stack
- Electric motor
- Propellers
- ELRS control receiver
- Camera
- Video transmitter
- Radio transmitter antenna
- Battery
- Initiation board.
Each drone will have its own range of configurations, depending on the manufacturer’s capabilities. Once a military officer confirms the order, the customized drone is shipped directly to the brigade. The Defense Procurement Agency oversees logistics and makes payment upon delivery.
BlueBird Tech has developed a new drone detector called Chuyka 4.0, equipped with an additional module capable of scanning the area in a new frequency band.
In Ukraine, a unique DART missile has been created, which is launched directly from stratospheric balloons. The main feature of this design is its complete resistance to enemy electronic warfare systems.
