Ukraine is considering all options to end war - Army's Commander-in-Chief

Ukraine is currently considering all possible formats for achieving peace, but Russia continues to block the most basic proposal - a 30-day ceasefire, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reports.
According to Syrskyi, he held a video conference with the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, General Robert Brieger. During the discussion, the Ukrainian commander:
- explained the importance of increasing the EU's initiative in supplying Ukraine with ammunition and air defense systems;
- outlined his view of the current frontline situation and noted that Ukraine is reorganizing the management of its Armed Forces and transitioning to a corps-based structure;
- discussed with Brieger proposals for optimizing and expanding cooperation in the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
"During the conversation, I emphasized that Ukraine seeks peace and is considering all possible options to achieve it. But Russia continues to block our basic proposal - a 30-day ceasefire. Therefore, the principled stance and unity of our international partners are critically important for achieving a just and lasting peace," Syrskyi added.
US efforts to end war
In recent months, the United States has been conducting separate negotiations with both Ukraine and Russia, seeking a path toward ending the war. During discussions with Kyiv, Washington proposed a full ceasefire, which Ukraine supported. In contrast, Russia began putting forward its own conditions while repeatedly announcing fictitious "ceasefires" that it itself would go on to violate.
On May 7, US Presidential Envoy Keith Kellogg stated that Ukraine had allegedly agreed to the creation of a demilitarized zone under joint control with Russia. Meanwhile, the Presidential Office of Ukraine responded with its own position on the matter.
