The investigation examines the connections of the murderer of former MP and nationalist Iryna Farion in Ukraine and abroad. Russia's special services involvement is not excluded, according to the first deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) Serhii Andrushchenko, RBC-Ukraine correspondent reports.

“A set of measures is being taken to investigate this person's involvement. We are studying his connections both in Ukraine and abroad. One of the versions is that the special services of the aggressor country are involved in the organization of the crime,” Andrushchenko said.

Other crimes on the territory of Ukraine that the detainee could have been involved in are being assumed.

Farion's murder

On July 19, an unknown shot Farion in Lviv. The woman was hospitalized, but doctors couldn't save her. Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case under Article 115 - premeditated murder. Several versions were also considered, including personal animosity.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the operation to detain the shooter was overseen by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Maliuk.

Farion's killer was detained yesterday, July 25. The investigation believes that the detainee could be only the executor.
