Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said that today's meeting in Geneva between the US and Ukraine on a peace plan was "very productive," Sky News reports.

"We have very good progress, and we are moving forward to a just and lasting peace. Ukrainian people deserve and want this peace more than any more," he told journalists.

Yermak emphasized that Ukraine is grateful to its great friends, the United States, and to President Donald Trump and his team for their commitment to peace. He noted that work will continue, and Ukraine will also "involve our European friends."

Immediately after speaking with the press, Yermak repeated the same points on his Telegram channel, clarifying several details.

He said the first session of negotiations between the Ukrainian and US delegations had concluded. A second meeting will take place later today, where work will continue on joint proposals, and Ukraine will also "engage our European friends."

Most importantly, Yermak wrote that final decisions will be made by the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.

US peace plan

Recently, the United States unveiled a 28-point peace plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. The document contains controversial and sensitive provisions for Kyiv, prompting Ukraine and Europe to insist on revisions. Today's meeting in Geneva arose directly from this process.

Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, said that the current draft of the document, whose amendments are still under discussion, already incorporates most of Ukraine's key priorities.

In addition, after the first session of negotiations, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that changes are being made to the American peace plan.

President Donald Trump set a deadline for Kyiv to accept the agreement by November 27. However, he clarified yesterday that his proposal is not final and the document could still be amended.
