Ukraine finds solution as repairs of foreign-supplied equipment become increasingly difficult

Part of the military equipment Ukraine has received from its partners has long been out of production. Due to a shortage of spare parts, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have had to look for alternative solutions, according to a statement from the Command of the Logistics Forces during a press briefing in Kyiv.
The issue primarily concerns equipment that Ukraine’s foreign partners have transferred from their own stockpiles. For some of this machinery, production has already been discontinued, making it increasingly difficult to obtain the necessary spare parts.
"Manufacturers of this equipment have either long since switched to producing new products or are completely refusing to provide us with any manufacturing documentation. And here, 3D printing is a major help," the Logistics Forces Command said.
The problem has been partially addressed thanks to modern equipment provided by international partners. It allows the production of necessary components directly in Ukraine.
To work with this equipment, Ukrainian specialists underwent training abroad.
"Today, we print 40% of the parts for the weapons and military equipment (engineering troops’ special nomenclature) that our partners cannot supply, using 3D printers," the Logistics Forces added.
Earlier, representatives of Ukraine’s defense industry reported that due to shortages of certain components, the country is gradually increasing domestic production of parts for weapons and drones.
In particular, Ukrainian enterprises already produce casing elements, mechanical parts, and some electronic boards and modules. At the same time, some critical components still depend on imports.
