Interceptor drones cannot shoot down Russian jet-powered Geran-5 drones. However, Ukraine’s air defense is achieving strong results in destroying this weapon, according to military technology expert Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov.

The expert noted that for the second consecutive day, Ukrainian air defense has been shooting down Geran-5 jet-powered missiles near Kyiv.

"Russians launch them from a distance of 400 kilometers," Flash said.

The positive news is that Ukrainian air defense is shooting them down, he added.

However, there is also a negative side: the enemy is producing them, using them, and will continue to use them.

"Jet-powered interceptors won’t be of much help here," the expert believes.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Russia was launching small numbers of jet-powered drones in waves in an attempt to paralyze Kyiv.

It was also reported that Russia continues to ramp up production of attack drones, focusing on faster targets.

In addition, Russian jet-powered Shahed drones are heading toward Kyiv along the same route — along the border with Belarus.
