Ukraine establishes kill zone along Belarus border to deter Russian forces

Ukrainian border guards are proactively preparing for a possible Russian offensive from Belarus and building a strong defensive line, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.
Fortifications along border
Border Guard Service personnel are establishing a so-called kill zone along Ukraine's northern frontier to effectively eliminate enemy forces in the event of a breakthrough attempt. Defensive positions are currently being reinforced with various engineering fortifications.
Border guards are constructing:
- Anti-tank trenches
- Multi-layered barbed wire barriers
- Rows of concrete dragon's teeth
This network of defensive structures is just one part of the extensive fortification system being built along the northern border to deter and stop any potential aggression.

Dnipro River situation
The military also pays special attention to waterway defenses. Defensive measures are ongoing on islands along the Dnipro River in the border area, where a certain level of activity has also been detected, and Ukrainian forces continue to closely monitor developments on the Belarusian side.
The situation remains fully under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Threat of offensive from Belarus
According to previous reports, Ukraine is significantly reinforcing its northern border over concerns that Belarus could become directly involved in the war on Russia's side. International observers indicate that Ukrainian forces are strengthening fortifications and closely monitoring the movement of military equipment and drones across the border.
At the same time, military analysts say there are currently no signs that a strike force capable of launching an immediate offensive is being assembled.
Meanwhile, the State Border Guard Service has also commented on whether new provocations from Belarus could occur in the near future.
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to assess the risk of renewed enemy operations toward Kyiv and the country's western regions, similar to those seen during the early stages of the full-scale invasion by Russia, and remain on full combat readiness.
