Ukraine downs most overnight Shahed UAVs in latest Russian attack

On the night of August 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 70 strike drones and decoy UAVs. Some of the drones hit frontline areas, the Ukrainian Air Force report.
During the night attack, the enemy used 72 Shahed UAVs and various types of decoy drones.
The aerial targets were launched from the following directions:
- Millerovo;
- Kursk;
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems forces, as well as mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian troops, repelled the aerial assault.
As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, according to preliminary reports, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 44 Russian drones over the north, south, east, and center of the country.
There are confirmed hits from 28 drones across 9 locations. The frontline areas in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as parts of the Kyiv region, were targeted.
Night attack on Ukraine
On the night of August 1, Russian forces targeted the Dnipropetrovsk region with strike drones. Due to the attack, a private house was destroyed, and two children were pulled from the rubble.
The injured, a 4-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were hospitalized.
According to medics, the boy is in serious condition, while the girl is in moderate condition. Both are receiving all necessary medical care.
At the same time, this morning, Russian troops shelled Kherson with artillery. A mother of three children was killed in the attack.
Furthermore, overnight, Russian forces also shelled the Zaporizhzhia district, striking residential buildings. Two civilians were injured in the attack.
