Soldiers from the Alter Ego ground robotic systems battalion of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade have developed a unique technology that allows ground robotic systems to be deployed using drones, according to the press service of Brave1.
Systems in which one drone carries another to the area where it will carry out its mission are known as marsupials.
Only a few units have mastered this tactic. Alter Ego developed its own specialized ground robotic system, Desantnyk, as well as a solution for accurately dropping it from a bomber drone. The entire process, from the initial idea to combat deployment, took 10 days.
The Desantnyk has already recorded confirmed strikes. In particular, enemy shelters and personnel were destroyed.
"In military affairs, a considerable amount of time can pass between the creation of a technology, its first use and the moment when it can be discussed publicly. While it was not yet possible to talk about the unique successful deployment of the ground robotic system, the 'Desantnyk' was already undergoing testing and carrying out its mission," the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade said.

As RBC-Ukraine previously reported, ground robots have remained one of the most dynamic areas of Ukraine's defense industry in recent months. In September, for example, the Croatian Komodo ground robotic system from Rheinmetall underwent bridge-laying tests.
In addition, it was recently reported that the Third Army Corps became the first in the world to deploy ground robotic systems from bomber drones behind enemy lines. During Operation "Vivaldi," Russian forces were attacked by kamikaze ground robotic systems dropped more than 10 kilometers behind the front line.
