The Ukrainian defense tech platform Brave1 has developed ammunition designed to destroy drones. The rounds are equipped with a specialized warhead, according to Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.

"The Brave1 defense cluster initiated the development of anti-drone ammunition that significantly increases a soldier's chances of hitting a moving target," Fedorov stated.

He added that what appear to be ordinary rounds have been equipped with a specialized warhead, significantly increasing the chances of destroying an FPV drone or a Mavic-type UAV.

According to him, the manufacturer has already codified the development in accordance with NATO standards.

"Our shared goal is for every infantryman to have a magazine of such rounds and be able to load them into their rifle in the event of an aerial threat," the vice prime minister explained.

Countering the drone threat

Russian forces continue to regularly attack Ukraine using Shahed kamikaze drones, targeting civilian infrastructure.

Intercepting these drones has become increasingly difficult, as they now fly at altitudes of around 2 kilometers above the ground.

In response, Ukraine has been actively developing methods to counter this threat. According to Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a special unit is being formed whose fighters will be equipped with interceptor drones.
