Ukraine developing countermeasures against Russian drones - Defense Minister

Over the years, Ukraine has continued to adapt its defense to counter Russian drones. Despite the intensification of Russian strikes, there are anti-Shahed solutions, according to the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov.
According to Umerov, over the years, Ukraine has been continuously working on an effective model of countering the Shahed. Russia regularly changed its algorithms, but Kyiv adapted its tactics in response. Today, there are dozens of technological solutions and products that are already being used in combat.
Anti-Shahed solution
According to the minister, despite the intensification of Russian strikes, an anti-Shahed solution is already available, and one of these products has demonstrated great effectiveness.
The head of the department explained that the decisions made at the beginning of the war lost their effectiveness over time. Among these solutions, for example, are mobile fire groups, whose effectiveness continues to decline.
Today, Ukraine is introducing new developments, such as interceptor drones and other tools that are deliberately kept secret.
Russian strikes on Ukraine
Russia has significantly increased the number of long-range drones it uses against Ukraine every night during the war. Recently, nighttime attacks have become a systematic tactic of pressure. For example, on the night of June 27, Russia launched 371 air strikes against Ukraine, including 363 drones.
