The Ukrainian army is facing a number of critical technological challenges that require rapid solutions to more effectively counter the enemy at the front, according to a post by advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov.

Currently, one of the most destructive factors remains the lack of serial, mass-produced means to counter guided aerial bombs (KABs), which, according to the author, are causing us significant problems at the front lines.

At the same time, the enemy significantly outpaces the Defense Forces in the development and deployment of electronic warfare (EW) means against drone video channels, and is also increasing the use of MESH modems for reconnaissance and strikes, against which Ukraine, as the advisor noted, is moving unacceptably slowly in development.

A serious problem remains the vulnerability of front-line cities such as Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy to regular drone attacks, which requires the implementation of new warning systems and countermeasures.

For the effective operation of interceptors, it is necessary to significantly expand the density of the radar field by increasing the number of tactical radars, while simultaneously developing a systematic approach to detecting and destroying enemy stations, which are the enemy's frontline eyes in the sky.

Among other priority tasks, Beskrestnov highlights the development of a domestic ballistic missile, which he believes would radically change the course of the war, as well as the creation of alternative navigation solutions for deep strikes.

Special attention should also be paid to protecting medium strike aircraft and bombers from enemy anti-aircraft drones, since, as the advisor noted, "if we do not create them – it will soon become very difficult to operate."

Earlier, "Flash" analysed in detail the consequences of turning off the relay stations in Belarus, noting that this will not stop the Shahed attacks on Kyiv and the western regions of Ukraine, but it will significantly change their nature and complicate navigation for enemy targets.

In addition, recently Beskrestnov drew attention to new terrorist methods used by the aggressor, in particular, Russia's attempts to attack the Ukrainian coast using unmanned boats equipped with Starlink satellite communication terminals, which were timely detected and destroyed by the Ukrainian military far from the coastline.
