The Ukrainian military command is engaged in creating combat-ready reserves as part of the implementation of the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to Syrskyi, he participated in a meeting held by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The main priority is strengthening the resilience of Ukraine’s defense.

The general said that during the meeting, they discussed:

  • The situation on the frontlines and at the border with Russia and Belarus;

  • The formation of reserves;

  • Cooperation with partners on security guarantees.

"I reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on the implementation of the decisions of the General Staff regarding the creation of combat-ready reserves for the Defense Forces," Syrskyi noted, without disclosing further details.

He emphasized that Russia has not abandoned its aggressive plans, but Ukrainian soldiers are preventing them.

Syrskyi stressed that the main focus is currently on the Pokrovsk, Dobropillia, Novopavlivka, Kupiansk, and Zaporizhzhia directions. The meeting also addressed the need for additional support for soldiers in these and other critical areas.

"There are positive trends in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions — here, the decisive factor is the active actions of the soldiers of the 225th Assault Regiment, the 71st Jaeger Brigade, and Special Operations Forces units. Their combat work is an example of courage and professionalism," the general added.
