Ukraine continues offensive in Berdiansk and Melitopol directions: ISW battle maps
Russian sources reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have launched attacks on occupiers near Robitne, as the Ukrainian offensive intensifies in the Berdiansk and Melitopol directions, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Kharkiv and Luhansk regions
Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that Russian forces are bolstering their offensive in the Kupiansk direction, but Ukrainian forces are successfully repelling their advances.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, said that Russian troops have concentrated their forces along the administrative border of the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions in an apparent attempt to divert Ukrainian forces away from Bakhmut.
Russian "war correspondents" claimed that Russian Armed Forces have purportedly captured a fortified position near Chervonopopivka (5 km northwest of Kreminna) and have allegedly made advancements near Torske (14 km west of Kreminna) and Serebrianskyi Forest.
Geolocation footage from August 1 shows that Ukrainian forces achieved limited success southeast of Kuzminove (2 km southwest of Kreminna).
Donetsk region
Ukrainian forces continued with limited offensive operations in the Bakhmut direction and reportedly made some advancements on August 1. Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces were unsuccessful in defending against the attacks of Ukrainian forces.
A Russian "war correspondent" claimed that Ukrainian forces captured an unspecified height near Klishchiivka (7 km southwest of Bakhmut). Some Russian military bloggers suggested that Ukrainian forces have shifted tactics, now using smaller assault groups along the Andriivka-Klishchiivka line.
Ukrainian forces conducted limited offensive actions along the Avdiivka-Donetsk line. The Ukrainian General Staff announced that Ukrainian troops successfully repelled Russian ground attacks near Avdiivka, Maryinka, and Pobieda (5 km southwest of Donetsk).
"Southern Axis"
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces continued offensive actions in the Berdiansk direction. Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to reclaim lost positions east of Staromorske.
The Ukrainian General Staff also said that Ukrainian forces continued offensive operations in the Melitopol direction. Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces attacked Russian troops near Robitne (10 km south of Orikhove).
The lack of consensus in Russian media regarding the scale of this alleged Ukrainian attack near Robitne indicates that Ukrainian forces are likely conducting limited attacks in the region.
A Russian military blogger asserted that a Russian sniper group called "Klynok" is operating near Robitne.
It is reported that Ukrainian forces struck a Russian training camp in the Kherson region. A Russian "war correspondent" claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted the Russian training camp on Dzharylhach Island (over 70 km southeast of Kherson in the Black Sea). The alleged distance between Ukrainian forward positions and the training camp is at least 60 km, suggesting that the attack might have been carried out with long-range precision munitions.
On August 1, Russian forces shelled civilian areas in the city of Kherson. The Ukrainian Ministry of Health reported that the Russians targeted the Kherson City Clinical Hospital during the shelling.
