Ukraine confirms strike on major oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Krai

On the night of September 26, Ukrainian forces once again struck the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region. A hit and fire have been confirmed, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The refinery was attacked by units of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.
The operation took place as part of measures to reduce the enemy’s offensive potential and to complicate the supply of fuel and ammunition to Russian military units.
The Afipsky refinery mainly produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Its annual processing capacity is about 6.25 million tons, and it is involved in supplying the Russian army.
According to preliminary data, a hit and fire at the facility have been recorded. The extent and full details of the damage are being clarified.
The General Staff emphasized that the Defense Forces will continue to take measures aimed at undermining the offensive potential of the Russian troops and forcing Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
Attacks on the Afipsky refinery
As a result of the night drone attack, one of Russia’s largest oil refineries, the Afipsky refinery, which produces fuel for the Russian army, caught fire.
This oil refinery in Russia has repeatedly been a target of Ukrainian drones.
The last time it was attacked was on August 28, when a large fire broke out as a result of the strike. Before that, on August 7, the facility was also attacked.
