Ukraine can achieve success in negotiations this year - Zelenskyy
Ukraine can succeed in negotiations this year if its defenders remain resilient and continue to eliminate Russian forces, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
The President said that today he had received a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. He detailed the situation on the front, with particular focus on the Pokrovsk direction and Kursk operation.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the Ukrainian units carrying out combat missions with determination.
"To be successful in negotiations this year, Ukrainian warriors must be resilient on the frontlines and effective in eliminating Russian occupiers," the President emphasized.
Based on the results of recent days and weeks, he noticed the soldiers of the 225th and 425th Assault Regiments.
Zelenskyy’s condition for negotiations
Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he considers the withdrawal of Russian forces to the pre-invasion lines a fair condition for starting negotiations.
Recently, the Ukrainian leader also emphasized that Ukraine is closer to peace than ever before.
At the same time, he noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is afraid of peace talks with Ukraine, as he sees them as a personal defeat.
