Ukraine boosts monthly drone production by 900 percent

Ukraine is producing 900% more drones per month than it did last year — effectively a tenfold increase. This is according to data from the Atlantic Council and the Georgetown Security Studies Review, as reported by Defense Express.
According to analysts, Ukraine was producing 20,000 drones per month as of last summer. This summer, that figure has grown to 200,000 units per month.
Think tanks emphasized the need for long-term contracts for the defense-industrial sector in light of this growth. Such contracts would allow companies to make more efficient decisions regarding hiring, production planning, and future investments.
In addition, experts emphasize the importance of implementing quality standards to reduce the risk of delivering subpar drones. Defense Express, for its part, noted that stronger oversight is needed to ensure compliance at all stages of production.
Researchers also stress the need to maintain a balance between production scale and technological sophistication. In particular, they recommend greater use of AI-based solutions and fiber-optic systems.
How many drones Ukraine can produce
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that Ukraine is capable of producing around 10 million drones annually.
He noted that domestically produced drones are significantly cheaper than their foreign counterparts and have been tested in combat conditions.
