Ukraine backs US plan for new energy truce with Russia

Ukraine is ready to support US diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching an agreement on an energy truce with Russia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Novyny LIVE.
Ukraine supports new truce format
According to Sybiha, Ukraine will work to implement the US proposal for an energy truce with the aggressor country.
The minister says that international partners have been informed of Ukraine's position on a possible pause in strikes on Russia's energy infrastructure.
"Ukraine supports the efforts of the United States aimed at achieving an energy truce," Sybiha said.
He also clarified that several other close international partners have already submitted their proposals on work toward a future agreement.
At the same time, the minister said that there is currently no final agreement with Russia. Ukraine hopes that the joint efforts of international partners, primarily the United States, will help reach an agreement.
Russia positively assessed United States President Donald Trump's idea of an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine. According to Russian leader Vladimir Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russia maintains contacts with the Americans and supports peaceful solutions.
In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the US statement about a possible agreement on an energy truce, expects a specific mechanism that would guarantee Russia's compliance with the terms.
United States President Donald Trump also said that Ukraine and Russia had allegedly reached an agreement to stop strikes on energy infrastructure.
