Ukraine attacked by 76 Russian drones overnight: Almost all intercepted
Russian forces launched 76 Shaheds over Ukraine on the night of September 14. Air defense systems failed to intercept four of them, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the night of September 14, the enemy attacked with Shahed drones. Radio-technical units of the Air Force detected and tracked 76 Shaheds launched from Kursk, Yeysk, and Chauda, according to the report.
According to the military, the air raid was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"As a result of the air defense engagement, 72 enemy drones were shot down over Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Sumy regions," the Air Force added.
Additionally, two enemy drones were lost on Ukrainian territory, and two returned to Russia.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
Russian forces carried out a massive drone attack on Ukraine on the night of September 14. This time, the occupiers did not use rockets.
Air defense systems operated on the approaches to Kyiv and in the surrounding area. In the Obolon district of Kyiv, debris from Russian drones was observed falling.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the massive drone attack.
It is worth noting that on the night of September 13, Russian forces also attacked Ukraine exclusively with Shaheds. At that time, Russia launched 26 drones, of which 24 were intercepted by air defense systems.
