Russia launched 26 kamikaze drones against Ukraine on the night of September 13. Only two of the drones escaped the air defense, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On the night of September 13, 2024, the enemy attacked with 26 Shahed attack UAVs from the launch areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Chauda,” the statement said.

According to the military, as of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, one Russian UAV was still in the airspace, and combat operations were ongoing.

Air defense in action

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, the aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, units of mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 24 Russian attack UAVs.

The air defense operated in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
