Ukraine announces drones with AI
Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science & Technologies - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the release of drones equipped with artificial intelligence technology, according to the marathon broadcast.
According to the minister, around 20 Ukrainian companies are actively engaged in implementing AI technologies into unmanned aerial vehicles.
"I believe that in the first quarter of 2024, we will witness the widespread use of FPV drones with AI. Moreover, soon Ukrainian counterparts of the Lancet will emerge, which will also operate based on AI. Currently, we are systematically testing these UAVs," Fedorov noted.
The minister stated that the Ukrainian drone will be similar to the Russian Lancet.
"Russians will complain that their equipment continues to be destroyed by our drones, similar to the Lancet. That's why everything is still in the testing phase. But over the past six months, many companies have been working to create a certain counterpart of the Lancet, and soon it will be in Ukraine," Fedorov said.
According to Fedorov, the number of long-range drones today is already quite significant, and production capacities are constantly increasing.
"We can produce no less than what Russia does with long-range kamikaze drones, and now it's just a matter of scaling up, which means funding this direction," Fedorov added.
Earlier, we reported that Mykhailo Fedorov mentioned the timeline for when the new Ukrainian drones, analogous to the Lancet, will appear on the front lines.
