Ukraine and Romania to coordinate actions after Russian attacks on border regions

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a phone conversation with the Chief of Defense Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces, General Gheorghiță Vlad, according to Syrskyi.
Commander-in-Chief said he briefed his Romanian counterpart on the current situation in combat zones and the key needs of Ukraine’s defense forces. They also discussed other issues of mutual interest, particularly in the context of threats linked to Russian air attacks crossing the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
"I thanked General Gheorghiță Vlad, the Romanian leadership, and all the Romanian people for their steadfast political support of Ukraine and military assistance to our country, as well as for the long-term cooperation in the interests of Ukraine’s defense and the protection of democracy in Europe and worldwide," Syrskyi noted.
Background
On August 13, Russia once again attempted to attack Ukraine with drones. At that time, one drone entered Romanian airspace after being detected over the Odesa region.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that a Russian drone violated Romanian airspace and remained there for about 50 minutes.
In this context, he urged the West not to wait for ballistic missiles but to act preemptively, particularly through joint defense.
