Ukraine and India agree on four documents on cooperation - Zelenskyy
Ukraine and India have agreed on four documents concerning cooperation between the two countries. These agreements cover the fields of medicine, agriculture, humanitarian aid, and culture, citing a statement made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Today, we have agreed with the side of our guests, with India, on four documents during this historic visit of Prime Minister Modi to Ukraine," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy specified that the agreements pertain to the medical sector, agricultural cooperation, humanitarian relations, and culture.
"A joint statement has also been prepared regarding the content of the Prime Minister's visit and the development of a strategic partnership between our countries, trade between our countries, and military-technical cooperation. All of this should be strengthened," the president said.
Ukraine and India have agreed on:
- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of India on Indian humanitarian grant assistance for the implementation of community development efficiency;
- An Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of India on cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry;
- A cultural cooperation program for 2024-2028;
- A Memorandum of Understanding between the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drug Control and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization of the Ministry of Health of India.
Modi's visit to Kyiv
Today, on August 23, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kyiv. This visit by the head of the Indian government to Ukraine marks the first in the history of bilateral relations.
In Kyiv, Modi met with the Indian community, paid tribute to Ukrainian children who lost their lives as a result of the Russian invasion, and also held talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
