Ukraine and Britain agree to bolster air defense amid Russian attacks
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, held a telephone conversation with the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Timothy Barrow.
"We agreed on the importance of strengthening Ukraine's air defense, which could be facilitated, in particular, by the United Kingdom," he wrote.
Yermak informed his interlocutor about the consequences of the recent massive shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages by Russia during the New Year holidays, emphasizing that dozens of Ukrainians were killed, and more than 150 were wounded in these terrorist acts by Russia.
The Head of the Office of the President also praised the productive work of Ukrainian and British teams on the agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine, as outlined in the Vilnius Joint Declaration of the G7 countries.
Yermak reported that during the conversation, they discussed the preparation for the next meeting of national security advisors and political advisors of the leaders of countries regarding the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula, which will take place in Davos in January.
Russian attacks on Ukraine and Britain's response
Recall that on December 29, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Ukraine. After this, the Defense Minister of Britain, Grant Shapps, announced that hundreds of air defense missiles of British production were dispatched to provide Ukraine with everything necessary to defend against the barbaric bombings of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Then, on January 2, Russian forces again launched a massive attack on Ukraine with kamikaze drones and missiles. On the same day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak. One of the topics was the bolsterig of Ukrainian air defense.
