Ukraine aims to set record in drone quantity and quality this year, Zelenskyy
Drones help to deter the enemy and keep them at a distance. Ukraine aims to set a record in drone production this year, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who spoke during a Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in the Ramstein format.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine's drone production is currently more efficient than anywhere else in the world.
"This year, we in Ukraine want to set a record for the number and quality of drones we produce and get from our partners. We're focusing on drones that our brigades need to hold the front lines," Zelenskyy stated.
The President clarified that Ukraine is also focusing on drones required for national security, including maritime drones, and UAVs made for deep strikes on the enemy's military facilities and infrastructure in their territory.
"We've already signed a significant number of contracts, with many more still in the works. I urge all of you to get even more actively involved in building-up this arsenal of drones. Ukrainians have the most experience in Europe with using drones, and we also have the biggest capacity in Europe to produce drones. So, invest more in this Ukrainian strength, because after the war it will also be your strength," added Zelenskyy.
Drone production in Ukraine
As Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal recently stated, President Zelenskyy had set a target to produce 30,000 long-range drones this year. Shmyhal noted that Ukraine's defense-industrial complex's capabilities increased sixfold, and Ukraine now produces nearly all types of drones used on the front lines.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian manufacturers recently unveiled more than 10 models of FPV drones, which can be operated via fiber-optic cables.
