Ukraine, together with its Western partners, has agreed on a multi-level plan to respond to possible Russia's violations of the future ceasefire agreement, citing the Financial Times and Reuters.

According to FT sources, the plan was discussed repeatedly in December and January between Ukrainian, European, and American officials.

According to the proposal, any violation of the ceasefire from Russia will result in a response within 24 hours. First, there will be a diplomatic warning, and, if necessary, actions by the Ukrainian army aimed at restoring the truce.

“If hostilities continued beyond that, the proposal would move to a second phase of intervention using forces from the so-called coalition of the willing, which includes many EU members and the UK, Norway, Iceland and Turkey,” the article says.

In the event of an escalation, a coordinated response by Western-backed forces, with the participation of the US military, will be launched 72 hours after the first violation.

Negotiations in Abu Dhabi

On January 23 and 24, trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the US, and Russia took place in the UAE. The United States assessed the meeting positively, and Kyiv called it meaningful.

During negotiations between the delegations, progress was made on military issues, while no decision has yet been reached on the territories.

The next round of negotiations is scheduled for February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi.

According to media reports, US special envoy Steve Witkoff will attend the talks.

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously noted, Ukraine is ready for substantive talks and is interested in ensuring that the outcome brings a realistic and dignified end to the war.
