Ukrainian defenders continue their counteroffensive in the Dobropillia direction. They have already liberated more than 180 square kilometers of territory, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Syrskyi said that during a working trip, he held a meeting with the command staff at one of the command posts in the Dobropillia direction. He heard reports on the current situation and the execution of tasks.

The general also spoke with the unit commanders engaged in searching for and eliminating Russian saboteurs and separate groups of occupiers in encirclement.

"Despite constant enemy counterattacks, assault units of the Defense Forces continue offensive actions in certain areas. In total, during the operation, 180.8 square kilometers of Donbas territory have been liberated, and 212.9 square kilometers have been cleared of saboteurs," the Commander-in-Chief noted.

According to Syrskyi, he clarified the problematic issues and needs of the Ukrainian offensive grouping and gave orders.

The general promised that the Ukrainian defense will remain active in the future.

Work also continues on strengthening the defense in the Pokrovsk direction. This involves improving logistics, road protection, and critical infrastructure security.

Dobropillia counteroffensive

Previously, on September 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian defenders had launched a counteroffensive operation near Dobropillia.

After that, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported the first results of this operation. In particular, Ukrainian defenders managed to de-occupy 160 square kilometers of territory.

Also, on October 7, it became known that Ukrainian soldiers liberated the village of Sichneve in the Dnipropetrovsk region from the Russian forces.
