Ukraine advances in 3 regions as Russian attacks stall, ISW says

Over the past several days, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have advanced in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. They have also disrupted a number of Russian offensive operations, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Sumy region
On September 22 and 23, Russian forces continued offensive operations in the north of the region, but Ukrainian forces prevented the enemy from advancing.
American analysts emphasize that the Russian army is suffering significant losses due to its use of infiltration tactics in the north of the region.
It was also reported that Russian forces carried out a series of airstrikes on Sumy.
Kharkiv region
In recent days, Russian forces continued offensive operations in the north of the Kharkiv region but made no confirmed progress.
Ukrainian and Russian positions in this area are largely intermingled, making it difficult to clearly determine control over individual sections of terrain.
Despite this, the Ukrainian Defense Forces recently advanced in the Kupiansk direction. Geolocation data indicates that Ukrainian forces pushed the enemy back west of Kalynove, north of Kupiansk. Ukrainian troops were also reported near Kalynove and north of Kindrashivka, allowing them to improve their positions on the flanks of Kupiansk.
Donetsk region
Ukrainian forces recently made gains near Chasiv Yar. According to analysts, Ukrainian troops advanced in the eastern and central parts of Molocharka, located southwest of Chasiv Yar and north of Kostiantynivka.
Ukrainian forces were also recorded advancing east of Stinka, northeast of Kostiantynivka.
In other parts of the region, Ukrainian forces recently advanced south and southeast of Novopavlivka. At the same time, Russian forces either advanced or maintained positions southeast of the settlement.
Zaporizhzhia region
The Ukrainian Defense Forces broke through southeast of Oleksandrivka. Ukrainian forces also advanced or maintained positions in the southern part of Orikhiv. At the same time, Russian forces attempted to infiltrate northeast of the city.
It is also known that Ukrainian forces continue to successfully disrupt Russian logistics operations in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region.
The second phase of Operation Vivaldi in the Donetsk region has previously been reported on, including its main distinguishing feature.
Ukrainian forces also previously drove Russian troops out of the village of Serednie in Donbas without suffering any losses.
