The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law ratifying the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, thereby joining the world's largest system for providing internationally coordinated operational assistance in emergencies, according to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.

"From now on, we will fully utilize advanced tools and programs to develop the national civil protection system. The key point is that we will be able to promptly mobilize assistance, which is crucial for us in full-scale war and constant hostile attacks," explained the minister.

In June, he mentioned that an Office for Interaction with the EU Civil Protection Mechanism was established within the State Emergency Service (SES) for effective communication.

Klymenko also added that thanks to this innovation, Ukrainian experts will have the opportunity to learn, exchange ideas with professionals, and implement the best European practices.

"For other participating countries, currently numbering 34, the knowledge and skills of the SES in conditions of armed conflict will be beneficial. Our personnel have already gained considerable experience in assisting, evacuating the population, and organizing civil protection measures. We are ready to share this experience," emphasized Klymenko.
