British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, stated that Britain will not choose between Ukraine and the United States amid the ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two countries. However, despite this, the UK continues to be "fully behind" Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion.

"This government is not going to choose between countries. We need to work with our allies and partners across the world and we'll continue to do that. But Ukrainian people can know that this government, this country, stands fully behind the Ukrainian people," Reeves stated.

At the same time, she recalled that her country has committed to providing £3 billion per year for as long as necessary to support Ukraine. She also pointed out that a recently passed law in the UK allows the use of profits from frozen Russian assets to assist Ukraine.

"And the first tranche of that £3 billion worth of funding will be unlocked in the next few days as a sign of our ongoing commitment to support the people of Ukraine," she added.

Zelenskyy’s meeting with Trump

On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Washington, where he met with US President Donald Trump.

During their conversation at the White House, a dispute arose between Zelenskyy, Trump, and US Vice President JD Vance regarding the war in Ukraine.

Following the argument, Trump gathered with his key advisors in the Oval Office, while Zelenskyy left the White House earlier than planned.

Trump accused the Ukrainian president of allegedly not being ready for peace.

While in Washington, an expected agreement on mineral resources between Ukraine and the US was supposed to be signed. However, this did not happen.
