Heavy losses of armored vehicles at the front have forced Moscow to remove old Soviet tanks from storage. Satellite images show emptied warehouses in Siberia, the UK Ministry of Defense reports.

According to the statement, losses of Russian military equipment in Ukraine continue to rise. Since February 2022, Russia has lost over 3,600 main battle tanks and nearly 8,000 armored vehicles.

This has led to a reliance on outdated and poorly maintained Soviet equipment from strategic storage warehouses. As the UK intelligence emphasized, armored vehicles are being removed from storage, modernized where possible, and sent to the front lines.

"Imagery has confirmed a large reduction of stored armored vehicles at tank storage bases in Arsenyev, Buy, and Ulan-Ude since 2022," the UK Ministry of Defense stated.

As the reports indicate, Russia has been conducting offensive operations since October last year. During this time, they managed to capture several settlements in the Donetsk region.

According to UK intelligence, due to infantry assaults, November 2024 became Russia's deadliest month of the war. The daily death toll reached 1,523 military personnel.

The Russian casualty rate is likely to continue averaging over 1,000 personnel per day in December 2024, despite the onset of winter, as infantry attacks are expected to persist across several directions, the UK intelligence predicts.
