UAF unveils fierce new Ukrainian Cup design with mace and spears

The Ukrainian Association of Football has unveiled the new Ukrainian Cup trophy on its official Instagram account.
What the new trophy looks like
The new Cup will be awarded to the winner starting from the 2025/26 season.
Instead of the traditional chalice, clubs will now compete for a Cossack mace, which has become the central element of the new trophy.

According to the organization, the mace symbolizes strength and invincibility, and its image was inspired by the figure of Cossack leader Ivan Sirko, who, according to legend, never lost a battle.
"Honor to ourselves, glory to Ukraine! The main part of the trophy is a mace surrounded by 11 spears. This is a symbol of the unity of the 11 players on the field, leading the team to victory. Special thanks to the 92nd Assault Brigade for the patriotic slogan and their protection!" the UAF stated.
Updated tournament format
In addition to the redesigned trophy, the tournament will now follow a new format.
It will begin with a qualification round featuring the winners of regional cups. From the Round of 64 (1/32 final), Ukrainian Premier League clubs (excluding those playing in European competitions) will join. The clubs representing Ukraine in Europe will enter the tournament at the Round of 32 (1/16 final).
All matches will be played as single-leg ties. In the event of a draw, the game will go directly to a penalty shootout, with no extra time.
