U.S. to promote peace formula internationally - Kirby
The United States will promote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace formula internationally, stated John Kirby, coordinator of the National Security Council at the White House.
He noted that Washington is committed to a policy of supporting initiatives coming from the leadership of Ukraine.
"The State Department put out a readout of that discussion since it was Secretary Blinken who had that meeting with President Zelenskyy. Jake [Sullivan - ed.] was certainly in attendance. But they did talk about the importance of continuing the global assistance to support Ukraine and, of course, they also talked about what’s going on on the battlefield, how Zelenskyy sees the effort," he said.
Kirby emphasized that in Davos, Zelenskyy spoke about his peace formula.
"So, that too came up, the idea of trying to help operationalize and internationalize the peace formula that President Zelenskyy put forward.," he said.
Global "peace summit"
Speaking at the G20 summit in November 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a peace formula to stop a full-scale Russian invasion.
On January 15, it became known that the Ukrainian and Swiss teams were beginning preparations for a global "peace summit" at the level of the leaders of the participating states.
It is known that Switzerland has chosen Geneva as the venue for the planned global summit on the peace formula proposed by Ukraine.
