The U.S. State Department once again accused Iran of spreading falsehoods. The regime of this country denies its involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine and rejects supplying Russia with kamikaze drones targeting peaceful Ukrainian cities, according to a statement by U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

"Yeah. I would just say that’s obviously not true and the evidence speaks for itself," he said.

Supply of Iranian combat drones to Russia

Since the fall of 2022, Russia has been using Iranian-produced Shahed 131/136 kamikaze drones extensively, along with Russian analogs of this weapon known as Geran.

In December, Russia received 250 units of Shahed kamikaze drones from Iran.

At the same time, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, denied that Iran supplied unmanned aircraft or missiles to Russia for the war against Ukraine.

The European Union has decided to impose new restrictions against Iran for supplying drones to Russia. Iranian military personnel, businessmen, and companies have been added to the sanctions list.
