Two Ukrainian paratroopers capture 14 Russian troops at once
The Ukrainian military captured 14 Russian occupants at once. The operation was carried out by only two paratroopers of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Two Ukrainian paratroopers moved to assault after a long drone attack on one of the advanced Russian positions. They conducted the operation under the fire cover of their comrades.
Two soldiers of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade of the Tavria came close to a Russian dugout. There, the paratroopers with call signs “Jin” and “Maneken” threw several grenades at its entrance.
After that, the Russians realized that they would not be able to get out of the dugout alive and decided to surrender.
“At once, 14 troops of the Russian army laid down their arms and left the dugout,” the statement said.
Thus, the exchange fund was replenished, which will allow Ukraine to return many Ukrainian soldiers from Russian prisons in the future.
Prisoner exchanges
According to the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, there is a preliminary agreement with Russia that prisoner exchanges should become systematic in 2025.
In 2024, Ukraine conducted 11 exchanges and released 1,358 citizens from Russian captivity.
