At the border between Serbia and Hungary, special forces detained two Russian agents who, according to investigators, agreed to carry out acts of sabotage in Germany in exchange for money, Bild reports.
Arrest
Two men agreed with Russian intelligence to carry out sabotage and a terrorist attack in exchange for monetary compensation. According to the investigation, they intended to attack a defense facility in Germany.
The arrest took place at the border between Serbia and Hungary, where the suspects had traveled.
Dangerous cargo in their luggage
During a search of the men’s luggage, an explosive device was discovered. According to Bild, the attack may have been directed against a company that plays an important role in supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
Germany had already warned of threat
Earlier, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, during the presentation of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution’s annual report, spoke about the planning of a terrorist attack using explosives, with Germany as the target.
"We managed to prevent this by targeting the individuals who were planning the attack," he said.
Recently, a fire broke out at a defense plant in Pardubice, Czechia. A group protesting arms deliveries to Israel claimed responsibility for the arson.
The Security Service of Ukraine also exposed a 16-year-old from Kharkiv who Russia had recruited to find individuals to carry out terrorist attacks in Ukraine. While in the European Union, the teenager sought out candidates and put them in direct contact with Russian intelligence officers.
