Tusk on Ukraine's EU accession: Poland's presidency will break the deadlock

Poland’s presidency of the European Union will break the deadlock on Ukraine’s integration that emerged in the last several months, says Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a briefing with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Tusk added the talks with Ukraine’s president addressed the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
During Poland’s EU presidency, the country would break the deadlock that has persisted in recent months on Ukraine’s European integration. Poland will work jointly with Kyiv and other partners to accelerate the accession process.
“And when the moment comes, after all these bureaucratic steps, we will speak in concrete terms, not sentiments. Today, we were able to have an open discussion about where disagreements lie and how to reconcile them. I want to emphasize clearly that things won’t be as they were in the past. Our relations and friendship will be based on real arguments. We will also be able to pursue our mutual interests when necessary,” he added.
Ukraine’s EU accession
On January 1, Poland officially began its presidency of the Council of the European Union. As Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha said, Ukraine is looking forward to cooperation to advance its European integration.
According to a survey conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Razumkov Center, 69% of respondents currently support Ukraine’s European integration, a 14-point increase compared to February 2022.
