The team of US President Donald Trump will work on a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine to end a war unprecedented since World War II, stated Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He expressed his intention for his team to focus on reaching a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

"Before even taking office, my team negotiated a ceasefire agreement in the Middle East, which wouldn’t have happened without us...Our efforts to secure peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine are now hopefully underway. It's so important to get that done," said Trump.

He emphasized that the war was a tragedy that had no analogs for decades.

"Million of soldiers are being killed. Nobody has seen anything like it since World War II," Trump added.

Trump wants to end the war in Ukraine in 100 days

Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal reported that US President Donald Trump had instructed US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg to end the war in Ukraine in a hundred days.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that Trump had instructed his aides to organize a phone call with Putin and that preparations were already underway.

The day before, he also called on Putin to stop the war against Ukraine, threatening Russia with tariffs and sanctions.
