Trump urges India and Pakistan to halt fighting

India and Pakistan must stop cross-border fighting. Such a conflict between the two nations is terrible, according to US President Donald Trump.
"It's so terrible. I get along with both. I know both very well, and I want to see them work it out. I want to see them stop, and hopefully they can stop now. They've gone tit-for-tat, so hopefully they can stop now," Trump said.
India-Pakistan conflict
The conflict between India and Pakistan - both nuclear-armed nations - has sharply escalated after militants attacked a group of tourists in one of India’s regions. New Delhi claims the assault was organized by the Pakistani government.
After that, both sides have mobilized troops along the border. Media reports suggest India has placed its air force on alert for a potential retaliation against Pakistan.
Last night, India launched missile strikes on Pakistani territory, and Pakistan came up with a tit-for-tat response.
US President Donald Trump has already commented on the escalation, calling it a "shame."
