Trump undergoes medical examination while serving as president

On Friday, US President Donald Trump underwent a routine medical check-up. The report will provide the public with the first detailed insights into his health in many years, according to the Associated Press.
"I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done," Trump wrote on social media before the examination, which took place at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
The duration of the check-up remains unclear, as the president did not engage with journalists before or after the visit. However, he spent over five hours at the center before heading to Air Force One and flying out for the weekend to Florida.
Earlier, Trump had questioned the physical and mental capabilities of his predecessor, Joe Biden, while keeping key details about his own health secret, avoiding the traditional presidential transparency on medical matters.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the president was undergoing a routine and long-scheduled medical examination. She promised to provide a doctor's report from the White House, which would be published as soon as it becomes available.
"I can confirm the president is in very good shape, as you see on a near daily basis here," she added, noting that the medical check-up did not require Trump to be put under general anesthesia.
The Associated Press clarified that the medical report will be the first public information about the health of the Republican since the assassination attempt in July 2024. At that time, in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was shot in the ear but miraculously survived. The shooter was killed on the spot.
Yesterday, the US Department of Justice announced that a Pennsylvania resident had been charged, including for making threats to attack and kill US President Donald Trump, other US officials, and agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
