US President Donald Trump has announced a new conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting is scheduled for next work week, reports NBC News.

According to Trump, both men plan to talk again next week.

Earlier today, it became known that Trump was “angry” and “pissed off” with Russian president Vladimir Putin over matters related to Ukraine.

According to the American leader, he is prepared to impose additional tariffs on Russian oil.

Trump-Putin negotiations

US President Trump and Putin held a phone call on March 18, 2025, during which they discussed the possibility of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

Putin allegedly agreed to a temporary truce but set conditions for a full ceasefire. Specifically, he demanded the cessation of mobilization in Ukraine.

Despite the agreements, the Russian side did not uphold its promises, and hostilities continued. Ukraine’s Presidential Office noted that Russia effectively rejected the ceasefire, as shelling of Ukrainian territory continued even after the talks.

According to Ukraine’s Presidential Communications Advisor, Dmytro Lytvyn, on March 27, at least two strikes were recorded that damaged energy infrastructure. Additionally, on March 28, it was reported that Russia attacked Naftogaz (the largest national oil and gas company of Ukraine).
