Trump threatens EU over 'robbing' US tech giants

Trump threatens the EU
Trump accused the European Union of imposing massive fines on major American companies once again. According to him, the penalties were issued without any reason or justification.
The US president listed the following EU fines:
- Apple — $15 billion
- Meta — $3 billion
- Amazon — $2.5 billion
- Google — $1 billion
"This brings the Google total to over 18 billion dollars! This illegal and highly discriminatory practice started at these high levels during the first year of the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration, but it’s not going to continue during the Trump Administration," Trump wrote on X.
Trump promises investigation and new penalties
The US president announced the immediate launch of an investigation into the EU's "practice of robbing." American companies and American taxpayers.
"The European Union will pay a very big price for this illegal and highly unethical conduct, which I have consistently warned them about. The penalties will be entirely reversed," he said.
Trump also said the United States would impose significant tariffs on the European Union as soon as possible.
Earlier this year, Trump suggested imposing tariffs on countries that oppose his plans to bring Greenland under US control.
The European Union previously fined Google nearly €3 billion for violating antitrust rules. Trump warned that the United States would respond to such actions.
