Trump targets major Russian trade partner with New tariffs

US President Donald Trump has promised to impose tariffs against India. One of the reasons is its trade with Russia, according to the American leader on the social network Truth Social.
Trump noted that although India is a friend of the US, over the years there has been relatively little trade with it, as its "tariffs are far too high, among the highest in the world." India also has "strenuous and obnoxious non-monetary Trade Barriers of any Country."
"Also, they have always bought a vast majority of their military equipment from Russia, and are Russia’s largest buyer of ENERGY, along with China, at a time when everyone wants Russia to STOP THE KILLING IN UKRAINE — ALL THINGS NOT GOOD! INDIA WILL THEREFORE BE PAYING A TARIFF OF 25%, PLUS A PENALTY FOR THE ABOVE, STARTING ON AUGUST FIRST," the president emphasized.
Trump's threats about secondary tariffs
Let us recall that only a few weeks ago, US President Donald Trump stated that he would impose 100% secondary tariffs against Russia if it does not conclude a peace agreement with Ukraine within 50 days.
Yesterday, July 29, the American leader noted that the deadline is being reduced to 10 days. According to him, there is no reason to wait longer, as Russia's response to his ultimatum is already obvious.
It is worth noting that such tariffs also threaten India, as it is one of the largest importers of Russian oil.
Recently, India's Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured that if Trump imposes secondary tariffs, his country will abandon Russian oil.
