US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, likely in Saudi Arabia, according to a video of the US president’s speech published on the Twitter (X) account of correspondent Jennifer Jacobs.
Trump made the statement to the press pool in the Oval Office.
It is noted that the US president ultimately "expects to meet" with Putin and will likely do so in Saudi Arabia.
Trump also claimed that Putin supposedly "wants peace." According to the US president, their phone conversation lasted an hour, as reported by media representatives.
"I think I could say with great confidence: he (the Kremlin leader - ed.) wants to see it end," Trump said about Russia's war against Ukraine.

Trump-Putin conversation
Earlier, it was reported that US President Donald Trump held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, they specifically discussed the Russia-Ukraine war.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Trump and Putin had a phone call that allegedly lasted nearly an hour and a half.
Notably, Trump only mentioned in a social media post that he and Putin agreed on reciprocal visits.

On February 12, the White House made a statement regarding a possible meeting between Trump and Putin.
Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office reported that he also spoke with Trump. Later, in his evening address, Zelenskyy revealed some details of his conversation with the US leader, stating that they discussed potential pathways to achieving peace.
