Trump spotted with Musk after long-standing feud: What they talked about

US President Donald Trump was spotted with billionaire Elon Musk at the farewell ceremony for the late activist Charlie Kirk. This was their first meeting following a public feud.
On September 21, public figures gathered at Glendale Stadium in Arizona to bid farewell to the late activist Charlie Kirk.
Footage showing Trump talking to Musk was captioned, "For Charlie."

According to CNN, when reporters approached Trump and asked whether Kirk brought Musk and him back together, the US leader replied, "Well, Elon came over and said hello."
Trump also added that he has a "very good relationship" with the billionaire, despite a months-long spat between the two influential figures.
Musk, in turn, posted the same photo with the US president on X that the White House had shared.

According to the Daily Mail, a lip-reading expert deciphered a brief conversation between Trump and Musk.
The White House chief reportedly addressed the businessman with, "How are you doing?" to which Musk allegedly shrugged.
Trump then said, "So Elon, I've heard you wanted to chat… Let’s try and work out how to get back on track." Musk reportedly nodded in response.
Finally, the US leader shook his hand and added, "I've missed you."
Trump’s feud with Musk
The billionaire was an influential ally of Trump, spending nearly $300 million to support Republicans in last year’s elections.
In 2025, Elon Musk held an informal advisory role in the administration of US President Donald Trump for a period of time.
The dispute between the influential figures erupted after Musk criticized Trump’s bill, "One Big Beautiful Bill," calling it disastrous. Later, the billionaire stated that the legislation would significantly increase the national debt.
Musk also proposed creating a new political party — the America Party — to challenge existing forces if the bill were passed.
In response, Trump threatened to review or cancel contracts with Musk’s companies, criticized him on social media, and warned of possible cuts to Tesla and SpaceX subsidies.
Trump even threatened Musk with deportation, accusing him of discontent over the cancellation of the electric vehicle mandate.
Talk of a reconciliation between Trump and Musk began after their meeting in Arizona on September 21, when Americans gathered to bid farewell to Charlie Kirk.
