Trump should become president to preserve democracy in US - Elon Musk
On Saturday, Elon Musk joined Donald Trump on stage at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where an assassination attempt was made against the former US president last summer, according to CNN and CBS News.
During his speech, the billionaire indirectly referenced current US President Joe Biden in a negative light to urge attendees to vote for the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
"I want to say what an honor it is to be here. And you know, the true test of someone’s character is how they behave under fire. We had one president who couldn’t climb a flight of stairs and another who was fist-pumping after getting shot. … So who do you want representing America?" he asked the crowd.
Musk also stated that he believes the 2024 election will be the most important election of our lives.
Furthermore, the businessman echoed several typical Republican themes, claiming that Democrats want to take away freedom of speech and the right to bear arms.
He emphasized that Trump must win to preserve the Constitution and save democracy in America.
"This election could be decided by 1,000 votes, 500 votes," he added.
CNN reminded viewers that Tesla founder Musk supported Trump shortly after the assassination attempt in July. Since then, the billionaire has become a staunch supporter and defender of Trump, with the former president stating that Musk would head a government efficiency commission if he were re-elected.
This rally was a repeat event, held in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the assassination attempt on Donald Trump occurred in July.
